Havana Cuba. — The opponent and coordinator of the platform Cuba DecidesRosa María Payá, has referred on her Twitter account to the conversations held by the governments of the United States and Havana on January 18 and 19 to discuss matters of bilateral interest.
In his tweet, Payá emphasized that the Cuban people want to be the protagonist of their own history, and at the same time questioned the approach of the White House to the Havana regime.
“No one is asking POTUS to solve the problem for us, but the minimum is that it does not help the repressors.”
His message has generated opinions rejecting the new dialogue process between the two governments. The user Vladimir Oliveros Vizcay noted: “There is no dialogue with dictatorships (…) Down with communism.”
Other netizens have ironically referred to the fact that the aforementioned meetings were held to discuss compliance with the law, Cuba being a country that does not respect the laws. Likewise, they have mentioned the close relations that the dictatorship maintains with other totalitarian regimes.
The Cuban people have shown that they want to be the protagonist of their own history. Nobody is asking @POTUS that solves the problem for us, but the least is that it does not help the repressors.
This, without demanding human rights conditions, is at least irrational?

“(…) Cuba does not respect any law. United States promoting rapprochement with the ruling mafia in Cuba and this at the same time having talks with Russian representatives.
Several users also recalled the issue of political prisoners and demanded their release.
“By some chance they talked about the thousands of political prisoners unjustly imprisoned since July 11,” questioned the netizen who introduces himself as TonyCanonPlay.
Among the diversity of criteria, those who accuse President Joe Biden of being a communist, and those who maintain that the United States is responsible for the survival of the Cuban dictatorship, stand out.
“The fault that communist tyranny still exists lies mainly with the United States, they don’t care about the right of Cubans to be free,” said a netizen identified as Galileo.
His opinion was seconded by user Vladimir Velázquez, who described relations between Cuba and the United States as an endless “pull and pull.”
“Look, they are delusional, this push and pull will never end, because it is convenient for those here to blame someone for what is useless, and for those from there to continue earning money promoting change here,” he concluded.
