In the capital of Morelos, the Secretary of the Interior, Rosa Icela Rodríguez Velázquez, headed the installation of the State Council and the Municipal Peace Councils in that entity. Together with Governor Margarita González, the federal official stressed that the national security strategy prioritizes attention to the causes that generate violence.
During the act, in the auditorium of the Teopanzolco Cultural Center, in Cuernavaca, Rodríguez Velázquez said that in the government of President Claudia Sheinbaum It is clear that peace is achieved with closeness, justice and institutions that listen and act next to the people
.
In this way, Morelos joins Chihuahua, Sonora and Nayarit, where the Peace Councils have already been installed.
Task
This is one of the actions aimed at the elaboration of local diagnoses to address the causes of violence through collaboration between religious, business and educational institutions associations.
In a statement, the Ministry of the Interior stated that this strategy is accompanied by universal social programs, work in territory, disarmament actions, attention to the most needy, peace fairs, welfare tianguis, and with the sum of efforts of authorities of the three levels of government, as well as representatives of different institutions

The event was attended by the General Coordinator of Intergovernmental Affairs and Social Participation of the Presidency, Leticia Ramírez; The president of the Mexican Episcopate Conference, Ramón Castro, and the Undersecretary of Peace Construction, Social Participation and Religious Affairs, Rocío Bárcena, among others.
