Ronald Acevedo as candidate for mayor of PJC

Asked about his possible candidacy for the mayor of Pedro Juan Caballero, the governor of Amambay, replied that if the electoral deadlines give him time, his candidacy may be launched.

In communication with 780 AM, the governor indicated that he is looking at the possibility of running for mayor of Pedro Juan Caballero, even more so because his brother, José Carlos Acevedo, had many projects for the city that he did not want to leave behind.

“If it’s for September, it gives me time, but if it’s for August, I’m not here,” he commented, without neglecting his interest, but clarifying that everything will depend on the deadlines granted by the Electoral Justice Court (TSJE). There is no re-election for the governorship, but if Acevedo wants to be a candidate for the mayor of PJC, he must resign this year for 90 days.

Regarding that resignation, he is awaiting clarification of the dates on which he must resign, to find out if it will be since the death of his brother. Former mayor José Carlos died after being shot by gunmen on May 17.

Regarding the act of contract killing committed against his brother, he emphasized the lack of actions observed to clarify the case, even more so considering that supposedly work was being done to identify the people involved in the crime.

«There is nothing, you have to be honest, they want to pass as if there was something, but it is not like that, they just want to buy time. Last night there were 6 injured again in the heart of the city and nothing happens. Amambay is not besieged as they tell the press », he stated.
