MIAMI, United States. — The writers Rolando Morelli and Magali Alabau and the playwright Rolando Moreno will receive the El Ateje Editorial Award, which seeks to promote and recognize the trajectory of Cuban artists and intellectuals in exile.
The aforementioned creators will be awarded the Ángel Cuadra Poetry Prize (Alabau); Carlos Victoria of Narrative (Morelli); and Pepe Escarpanter from Theater (Moreno).
The winners of the second installment of the El Ateje Editorial Award have been recognized based on their contributions to the arts through their work and validity.
The awards gala will take place next Friday, January 20 at the Miami Hispanic Cultural Arts Center in this city.
Founded in Miami in 2020, Editorial El Ateje has as its fundamental mission the dissemination and promotion of the artistic values of Cubans in exile and as its essential purpose to particularly highlight the work of those who have contributed in an exceptional way to enriching Cuban arts. off the island.
During the first delivery of the El Ateje Editorial Award, the winners were Orlando Rossardi (poetry), Zoé Valdés (narrative) and Matías Montes Huidobro (theater).
The award is only granted to living figures, residents outside of Cuba who maintain exile status.
