Together with activists such as the lawyer Paola Zavala Saeb, the human rights defender Yndira Sandoval and the activist for trans women Kenya Cuevas, she maintained that these actions are part of her five axes of government for the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office: Women in front, Cuauhtémoc Build Peace, Green Cuauhtémoc, Close and Trustworthy Government, Inclusive Growth and Human Rights.
“I promised you that we would work hand in hand with those who give their lives for their causes and that is what we did, citizens, civil society, neighbors, experts,” said Rojo de la Vega.
Among the actions to be carried out in the first 100 days after being sworn in as mayor are:
- No aggressor of women will be part of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s cabinet
- Creation of a Violet Council in the mayor’s office and a Violet Patrol, made up of psychologists, lawyers and social workers, accompanied by a safety program for women.
- Creation of a ‘First Aid Kit’, in case of emergency due to violence against a woman, as well as an atlas to identify risk points.
- Day homes for older adults and adaptation of ‘Friendly Corridors’ so that women can move more easily and safely.
- Cuauhtémoc will be declared a ‘Sanctuary City’ for the street population and people in transit.
- Installation of a children’s home for sons and daughters of informal employment workers.
- Form a network of women comptrollers to observe the budget exercise.
- Intervene with prevention actions, depending on the type of crime, in neighborhoods with the highest incidence – considered red lights: Santa María la Ribera, Morelos, Centro, Tabacalera, Condesa, Roma Norte and Roma Sur, Doctores, Obrera and Juárez.
