Rognoni: “No increase in meat should be justified because there is enough in the country”

The director of the Agricultural Marketing Institute, Carlos Rognoni, explained that in our country there is enough meat to supply the national market and it is even being exported to other countries and therefore one should not speculate on a shortage to increase the price.

«I must clarify that there is meat that Panama is a self-sufficient country in beef, chicken and pork, not only do we have enough but we are exporting, on Friday the first container of beef shipped directly from Azuero to Nicaragua, which which is excellent news and we call on businesses not to increase the price of meat because there is no justification for doing so, there is enough in the country,” Rognoni detailed.

Regarding the agro fairs, he said that 16 were held this week in the country, 4 in the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca offering basic basket products at affordable prices for the population.
