The lawyer Róger Reyes celebrates this Friday, October 14, 420 days of being detained in the cells of the Directorate of Judicial Assistance (DAJ), known as “El Chipote”, a center where he is subjected to torture, his relatives have denounced in various occasions.
The political prisoner has been on a hunger strike for 26 days. He demands that the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo allow him to see his three and five-year-old daughters with whom he has had no contact since he was apprehended by the Police.
Reyes was the defense attorney for the political prisoner and former Nicaraguan presidential candidate Félix Maradiaga. In addition, he is a member of the Political Council of the opposition Blue and White National Unity (Unab), an organization that has repeatedly demanded his immediate and unconditional release.

The Ortega justice sentenced Róger Reyes to ten years in prison for the alleged crime of “conspiring to undermine national integrity.” He was also disqualified from holding public office until the completion of his sentence.
