The ministry of Treasury and Public Credit appointed Roger Carrillo as the new president of Colgamesthe State entity in charge of regulating games of luck and chance in Colombia.

Carillo, who is an economist from the Autonomous University of Colombia and a specialist in Systematized Financial Management from the Free University of Colombia, had been serving as Head of Coljuegos’ Planning Advisory Office.
According to the Ministry of Finance, currently “there are 16 authorized operators and as of December 2022 they have reported 8.06 million active accounts“, but they mention that a player can register in one or several accounts on the different platforms.

Additionally, they mention that “in 2022 bets are reported for $26 billionwith a growth of 67%”.
