Government appointed Roger Arista Perea as head of the National Intelligence Directorate (DINI) in replacement of Colonel PNP (r) Juan Carlos Liendowho submitted his resignation on Tuesday, January 3, as announced by President Dina Boluarte in an interview for La República.
Supreme Resolution No. 003-2023-PCM, published in an extraordinary edition of the Official Gazette El Peruano, bears the signatures of the Head of State and the President of the Council of Ministers, Alberto Otárola.
The assumption of Arista Perea occurs after the general EP (r) Juan Carlos Liendo O’Connor resigned after the president Dina Boluarte expressed in an interview with The Republic that he disagreed with his classifying the protests that take place in the interior of the country against the Government as a “terrorist insurgency”.
The fact questioned in the interview conducted by this medium responds to the fact that, when she lamented the deaths in Ayacucho as a measure of repression and a day before her appointment as head of the DINI, Liendo celebrated the actions of the Armed Forces.
