During the installation of the National Council for Sovereignty and Peace, held in the Venezuelan capital, the president of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodríguez, highlighted that it is necessary for this body to seek the defense of the truth at all levels against the positioning of lies to attack Venezuela.
“The Peace Council must insist on the search and defense of the truth for constructive action. Search for all the elements that lead us to defend peace and sovereignty,” Rodríguez reflected, while saying that the masks have fallen in the process of siege against the country.
“It is clear what the true objective of those who attack us is. Since they don’t come to talk about the Cartel of the Suns, they don’t come to talk about the Aragua Train. Saying that Venezuela emptied its psychiatric hospitals to send them to the US is already too much,” he reflected.
In this sense, he said that this matrix of opinion comes precisely from “a country whose percentage of wars has increased the number of people with severe psychological and psychiatric conditions.”
The coordinator of the secretariat of that body also said that it is now clear that the crimes perpetrated in the Caribbean are not based on actions to combat drug trafficking, since their revealed intention, ultimately, is to take over our natural resources.
“There are two objectives pursued by those who attack us: oil, which was always the primary objective, are our riches, minerals, rare earths, water. But the second is the annihilation of being Venezuelan, because if not, they would not say things like those said by Mrs. María Corina Machado, that 60% of Venezuelans are linked to drug trafficking,” he warned.
Rodríguez said that although this statement seems absurd, “it is not, because that is what US political figures say” to advance their strategy against the Venezuelan population.
“As Venezuelans we have defects, but we also have virtues that are not useful to the hegemon: we are rebellious, we are rebels, we like freedom, so they want to destroy us,” he declared.
