SANTO DOMINGO.- The leader of the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC), Héctor Rodríguez Pimentel, proposed today that at the next convention of that political entity the national board be elected and the vacant positions of the Presidential Directory and the Political Commission be filled to achieve unity and renewal that reformism requires.
He said that at the convention, which he suggests should be held no later than July 30, the president, vice presidents, general secretary and organization secretary be elected by secret ballot, as well as fill the 23 vacancies of the Presidential Directory (DP) and the 323 of the National Political Commission (CPN).
In this sense, he suggests that in order to fill these vacancies, the party bases, women, youth, leaders of foreign branches and many leaders for different reasons were excluded from the organization and have an interest in returning to the match.
Rodríguez Pimentel also proposes that the current members of these management bodies be ratified in the convention.
He understands that it is a proposal for “renewal, inclusion and unity” so that the PRSC can be strengthened with a view to the 2024 elections.
He said that at the convention, which he suggests should be held no later than July 30, the president, vice presidents, general secretary and organization secretary be elected by secret ballot, as well as fill the 23 vacancies of the Presidential Directory (DP) and the 323 of the National Political Commission (CPN).
He stated that after that convention, the party’s outgoing president should be recognized with a “high honor.”
He argued that once the new authorities are elected, they must open the processes of organization at the national level and selection by democratic means before the end of the year of a presidential candidate for 2024.
Rodríguez Pimentel considered that those who aspire to elective positions for the upcoming presidential elections will not be able to aspire to leadership positions in the party, “to avoid being judge and jury.”
He said that the philosophy of this conventional process of the PRSC must be “zero exclusions and total inclusion of the bases, of the compatriots from abroad, of those who are inside the party and of those who for different reasons distanced themselves from the organization and today they want to return to their political home.
Below is the full text of the proposal that Rodríguez Pimentel will present this Sunday at the meeting to be held this Sunday at the main headquarters of the PRSC:
PROPOSED RENOVATION AND UNIT WITHOUT EXCLUSIONS!
1.- That at the next ordinary national convention, which must be held no later than July 30, the PRSC PRESIDENT, acting president, first vice president, second vice president, third vice president, 4 national vice presidents, 5 regional vice presidents, the general secretary, organization secretary, electoral secretary and recording secretary (Art. 19 paragraph Vll of the statutes)
2.- That after the convention, the outgoing president be distinguished with a high partisan honor and that the National Political Commission fill the 23 vacancies of the Presidential Directory (DP) with significant representation of members of the party bases by region (currently there are 35 members out of a total of 60 established by Art 33 of the statutes, 25 members are missing).
3.- That the 323 vacancies in the National Political Commission be filled with members of the party bases by region (Art 35 of the statutes establishes 861 members and currently there are only about 538 regular members, including those recently excluded ).
3.- That immediately after the Convention, the party’s reorganization process is opened throughout the country and at the same time the pre-campaign to choose a presidential candidate, which ends in October or November of this year.
4.-With this proposal, the PRSC could come out renewed, united and strengthened, with gains from the bases and ready to grow until it is an option of power in 2024, as everyone wishes.
5.- Zero exclusions and total inclusion of the bases, of the compatriots from abroad, of those of us who are inside and of those who are outside and want to enter!
6.- Total and monolithic unity to succeed in 2024.
