Rodríguez: Maduro deactivated the plan of aggression against Venezuela

During the ordinary session of the National Assembly (AN) this Tuesday, a draft Agreement was unanimously approved in support and restitution of relations between Venezuela and Colombia and the opening of the border.

The president of the Venezuelan Parliament, Jorge Rodríguez, celebrated this step and assured that Venezuela has always tried to maintain a relationship of peace with the sister country, “the only action of the government of President Hugo Chávez and his Foreign Minister Nicolás Maduro, now president of the Republic, was nothing more than reaching out for peace and diplomacy between the two nations,” he said.

He assured that with the significant step that Venezuela has just taken to achieve peace in the opening of the border and the renewal of diplomatic relations, “the government of Nicolás Maduro has managed to deactivate that mechanism of aggression against Venezuela,” he said.

He stressed that of all the evidence and processes that have shown the descent of this nation, “what the recovery of sanity and permanent peace has meant, as well as the defense of our sovereignty and independence, few are as exciting as the resumption of diplomatic relations between Colombia and Venezuela.

He assured that in the tour that the parliaments of both nations took on October 26, “on that hot bridge we closed a dangerous and dark chapter, alien to those who inhabit those lands,” he said.

“It’s exciting to see as in that bridge that bears the name of the Liberator of both Homeland, a dangerous chapter was closing, deeply foreign to the true feelings of both nations”, he expressed.

Aggressions against Venezuela

Deputy Rodríguez also assured that only a part of the attacks from Colombia to Venezuela were made known. “Of what we only know a fraction of the intentions to destroy Venezuela, all the plans to assassinate President Nicolás Maduro, the attacks, the bomb threats and attempts to place explosives in Parliament, the drones against the President and the high Military Command”.

He continued, remembering the theft of Monomers, the permanent aggression, the war drums that sounded from Colombia, the training of terrorists and mercenaries from Central America, the landing of terrorists against the coast of Venezuela, the military training points, the financing for terrorist incursions. At this point it seems a lie, a terrible nightmare lived », he stressed.

Rodríguez assured that the state in which Monómeros finds itself is deplorable. «The state in which Monómeros is after the opposition stole all the material from its facilities is deplorable. Let’s imagine that Monómeros was Venezuela and that those barbarians had seized power, we could not guarantee that we would have a homeland, not even the dignity of our territory, which had been offered to the paramilitaries, to the Los Rastrojos group, with complete impunity in the border areas, everything that threatened the population,” he said.

He stated that of money stolen in MonomersLeopoldo López’s mother was paid 350 thousand dollars a month for her advice, the school of López’s children and the luxurious home where she lived in Spain were paid

«The scoundrels of Santos against the people of Venezuela will be written in the annals. We managed to confront each bomb, each assassin they sent, each attempt to promote forces with the sole purpose of attacking Venezuela”, he affirmed.

end of attacks

He stressed that the signed document is the death certificate of those who wanted to isolate Venezuela; the birth certificate to live in peace and the way to listen to those who come from both sides of the border.

With the agreement in hand, he affirmed, “here is the birth certificate of a new future and of a new integration project, of forming commissions beyond rhetoric and speeches, to listen to our Colombian compatriots”

“It seems incredible that 24 months ago we were faced with the actions of Duque on the border, how it was possible to advance without firing a shot, without spilling the blood of any Colombian or Venezuelan brother. I am proud that once the risks were counted, the peace effort was raised, we contribute what is necessary so that these commissions give results, we must listen to the concerns and expectations of our border towns and see how we can advance in legislative matters, if we have to establish new agreements, new rules’.

He assured that he was excited by the achievements made. “If there is something that excites me, from now and forever we are and will be brother peoples and we are proud to have expelled the black heralds from the battle.”

parliamentary support

The president of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Timoteo Zambrano, pointed out that Gustavo Petro’s coming to power in Colombia is a political fact that provides an impetus to advance in the coming times, and a recognition of the two legislative instances.

“This agreement has a first key element in the parliamentary relations between the two countries, which is the recognition of the two parliaments. With this document and that meeting (on Friday), what is coming forward is fundamental for both peoples », he indicated.

He added that this document is a route that will be expanded and that the meeting at the border is the first step. He said that parliaments have the task of being a hinge between the Executive and the people.

For her part, the deputy vice president of the Foreign Policy Commission, Ilenia Medina, stressed that the agreement is a fact so that hatred is not imposed again between two sister countries.

Medina also pointed out that President Petro has faced a great challenge of “breaking that miserable chain that brings countries to their knees,” by returning to Venezuela the goods that were stolen from him in Colombia, such as the Monómeros company.
