Losses in the order of 246.9 million dollars have left the country in the recent terrorist attacks against the strategic infrastructure of PDVSA, denounced the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez.
During a press conference held this Monday, he detailed that the oil and gas industry has reported losses in the order of 157.8 million dollars; 55.8 the petrochemical sector; 29.8 for the industrial sector and 3.5 for the electrical system.
“This is not counting the impact it has had on the industrial and transportation sectors, but thanks to the contingency plans we have we have managed to distribute diesel and guarantee minimal impact on the electrical system,” he said.
Likewise, the Minister of Petroleum also raised her recognition to the PDVSA workers who work tirelessly for the recovery of the Muscar gas distribution complex, located in the state of Monagas.
“The majority of industry workers, except for extremist factors at the service of these plans, are about to rescue the hydrocarbon industry, which brings a gradual recovery process thanks to their own and national efforts,” he said, while emphasizing that the industry will continue to guarantee the essential elements for national development.
Band dismantling
Likewise, the oil minister also reported that PDVSA’s internal security management has dismantled criminal gangs that sought to cause property damage to the industry.
“They have not only sought to cause property damage, but also to threaten the proper functioning of the industry,” he highlighted.
In this sense, he reiterated that the oil industry continues to be a strategic objective, which is in the crosshairs of the United States Pentagon who seeks to appropriate our resources.
