The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, pointed out this Friday that any process of seeking agreements with the opposition sectors and all the processes of progress in the talks with the Venezuelan opposition necessarily go through the lifting of all measures unilateral coercive measures “that have cruelly affected the social and economic body of the entire society of Venezuela.”
He explained that they are in the best disposition to advance in a general agreement, and that happens because the so-called international community understands that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country must be lifted.
“Venezuela has 762 sanctions against our businessmen, oil industry, airlines, agricultural products, travelers, the right of a Venezuelan to travel to any part of the world, and every event of discussion, every event of dialogue, of negotiation, necessarily happens because those aggressive events are lifted,” he said.
“We have been making progress in this dialogue process with the opposition sectors in Venezuela,” he said during an interview with TVV’s special envoy to Paris, Goi Azúa.
He said that between the Government and the opposition progress has been made in agreements on social matters “which is still in reserve and the details will be given in due course.”
Meeting with leaders from France, Argentina and Colombia to promote dialogue
The plenipotentiary delegate of the Government of Venezuela for dialogue, Jorge Rodríguez, held a meeting this Friday with the presidents of Colombia, Gustavo Petro, France, Emmanuel Macron, and Argentina, Alberto Fernández, in Paris, to promote dialogue with a sector of the opposition, Refers AVN.
Regarding the 5th Paris Forum for Peace, Rodríguez highlighted the willingness of the leaders, as well as the Norwegian Executive, which also participated in the meeting, where he stressed that in this forum “dialogue and negotiation in Venezuela have found three new friends”.
