Rodrigo Noriega on the sale of the ruling: ‘The Comptroller’s Office should open an ex officio investigation for illicit enrichment’

The lawyer Rodrigo Noriega analyzed the issue of the purchase of the ruling in the Supreme Court of Justice (SCJ), for which Oydén Ortega Collado, son of former magistrate Oydén Ortega Durán and the former secretary of this Claudia Purcait, were convicted last Friday.

According to Noriega, this action confirms that failures are sold in Panama, for which he recommended that the Comptroller General should carry out a more in-depth investigation.

“I believe that the Comptroller General of the Republic should open an ex officio investigation for illicit enrichment. If I were Comptroller Solís, I want to know if those former magistrates got rich or their assets increased beyond what their salary allows, ”he sentenced.

He added that there is at least one confirmed case, in which a bribe was paid to people from former magistrate Oydén Ortega Durán. “I’m not stating anything, but it’s something that should come up logically,” he said.

He commented that the National Assembly closed the file, so only the secretary’s son could be investigated for this crime.

According to Noriega, the fundamental thing today is that all the magistrates of the Supreme Court of Justice should make public their affidavits of assets.
