Rodrigo Mariscal will direct the Treasury Economic Planning Unit

The new head is a graduate of the UNAM Economics degree, with a master’s degree in Economics from the Colegio de México, and also has extensive experience in macroeconomic analysis, economic research, public finance and emerging economies, reported the SHCP.

Since 2019 he has worked at the Ministry of Finance, where he has served as general director of Economic Planning and general director of Macroeconomic Analysis, being a fundamental piece for the preparation of the macroeconomic framework, reports and the negotiation of economic packages, the agency highlighted.

He began his professional career as a financial researcher, specializing in banking and financial statistics, at the Bank of Mexico.

Throughout his professional career, he has been an analyst for the International Monetary Fund based in Washington, where he was in charge of forecasting the outlook for the world economy and the regions of Latin America and North America.

He was an economist for Latin America at the Institute of International Finance, also based in Washington DC In addition, he was a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, detailed the Treasury.
