Argentine midfielder Rodrigo Garro, from Corinthians, was involved in a car accident that ended with a motorcyclist dying, in the early hours of Saturday (4) in the town of General Pico, in the province of La Pampa (Argentina).
According to a note issued by the Parque São Jorge team, after the accident, “Garro gave the first statements [à Polícia local]was released and is now at home.” Furthermore, Corinthians reported that “it is following the investigations and will wait for their conclusion to speak about the case again”.
The local press claims that the car driven by the 27-year-old midfielder collided head-on with a motorcycle, whose driver died at the scene. Article published by the sports daily “Olé” informs that, at the time of the accident, Garro was accompanied in the car by the player Facundo Castelli, who plays for Emelec (Ecuador). Both Garro and Castelli were unharmed.
The Argentine midfielder was one of Corinthians’ standouts in 2024, playing a total of 63 games, in which he scored 13 goals and provided 14 assists.
