That’s the way it is, the case was configured as a “disrespect incident”, for which the presidential candidate must pay five days in jail or 10 million pesos.
Although it has not been notified, a separate document is already known that resolves “Sanction Mr. Rodolfo Hernández Suárez for contempt with a five-day prison sentence.” However, it indicates that the sentence may be commuted with a “fine of 10 million pesos.”
What is the penalty about?
The judicial process began in 2020 when Hector Mantilla He denounced Hernández to retract the accusations, but he never did, so the judicial process advanced.
Thus, a ruling was issued on May 18 indicating that the businessman should apologize to Mantilla in the next 48 hours after the ruling, a situation that did not happen either.
Copies of the case were now certified to the Attorney General’s Office for possible commission of a fraud to judicial resolution.
