A large rock fell on a Bajaj motorcycle taxi, internal number 1189, when it was traveling on the Central Highway, near the Tribuna Náutica restaurant, in the Kimiri sector, La Merced – Puente Raither section. The accident occurred around 5:00 pm this Sunday, causing alarm among passers-by and drivers who quickly helped the driver, who was trapped between the twisted iron.
The driver, identified as Jhonatan, suffered a broken leg and was taken to a health center. Its passengers were unharmed, although the motorcycle taxi suffered considerable material damage. According to the first reports, the rock fall would have been caused by recent rains that weakened the slope near the road.
Police personnel arrived at the scene to provide support and restore vehicular traffic. Authorities urge drivers to drive with caution, especially in areas prone to rock and landslides, such as the Kimiri sector, where similar incidents have been reported in the past.
