The hearings of Rocío San Miguel have been deferred four times for lack of transfer to the court. The next one is scheduled for May 26
The NGO Justice, Meeting and forgiveness denounced this Friday, April 18 that lawyer Rocío San Miguel “has not received specialized medical attention” after having suffered a fracture in her shoulder that they say “puts their physical and emotional health at risk,” which also warns can cause irreversible sequelae.
The NGO affirmed that the absence of care by specialists represents a “serious violation of human rights, particularly to the right to health, personal integrity and conditions worthy of care, as established by international standards.”
According to San Miguel’s lawyer, Juan González Taguaruco, she suffered a fracture when she fell as a result of a dizziness produced by a labyrinthitis that “was not properly attended.”

In addition, he described the procedural delay of the case of Rocío San Miguel as “inadmissible” after his trial hearing has postponed four times, “with delays of almost two months between each deferral.”
In the opinion of justice, encounter and forgiveness, “these postponements unjustly prolong their preventive detention and violate their right to due process and be judged on a reasonable level.”
Rocío San Miguel’s last trial hearing was scheduled for March 31, but was deferred, for the fourth time, for May 26 due to “lack of transfer” to the court.
Before irregularities in the case of Rocío San Miguel, the NGO Justice, Meeting and Forgiveness demands “immediate and without conditions.”
Rocío San Miguel was arrested on March 9, 2024 at Maiquetía International Airport when he would travel with his daughter. The authorities accuse her of being linked to an alleged “conspiracy plot” that sought to “attempt” Nicolás Maduro. It is being held in the helicoid.
