The Ministry of Health reported that 23 doctors have been mobilized to care for residents, firefighters, soldiers and volunteers who are working to extinguish the fire in different municipalities, mainly in the Chiquitania region of the department of Santa Cruz, where more than 150 health services have already been provided.
“We, as the Ministry of Health, have responded with our ministerial programs, providing medical care, and so far we have provided 154 cases of care,” reported the head of the Risk, Emergency and Disaster Management Unit, Milton Gonzales.
He explained that 14 brigades have been formed, called Rapid Response Teams, which belong to the ministerial programs Safci-MiSalud, Telesalud and Bono Juana Azurduy.
These brigades travel on foot through the different communities, carrying their tactical backpacks and first aid kits.

Last week, doctors treated patients with conjunctivitis, allergic rhinitis, high blood pressure, laryngitis, dehydration, physical exhaustion, muscle contractures, as well as burns and respiratory diseases, among others.
Gonzales said that, despite the adverse conditions caused by the forest fires, doctors are making every effort to provide care to the affected population on time.
