Roberto Fulcar: “I am alive by the will of God”

The former Minister of Education, Roberto FulcarHe said this Tuesday that he is aware that he is still alive by the will of God, science, his family, friends and companions in “fight throughout the country.”

“I am aware that I am alive by the will of Godby the hand of science, by the company of my family and by the love and unconditional loyalty of all of you and of thousands of friends, of fellow fighters throughout the country and in many countries of the world”, Fulcar stated during a mass celebrated in the Nuestra Señora de Las Mercedes church in honor of his health.

The official stated that his illness (severe ulcerative colitis) began in January 2022but that by not neglecting his responsibilities he lost time in treating it properly.

“A loss generated by a gastritis of the situation that you know and for not abandoning my responsibility, I probably lost time in properly caring for myself,” he said.

Roberto Fulcar, who also defined himself as a coherent and stubborn human being, revealed that while in the United States underwent surgery three timesand that during the process lost about 70 pounds.

The minister without portfolio, also took the opportunity to thank his family, friends, political team and the doctors of the Dominican Republic.

“They (the Dominican doctors) did everything they could for me and I am eternally grateful to them,” he said.

It is recalled that the political leader of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) returned to the country on February 28 after being absent for four months. Days later, the president Luis Abinader and his wife, Raquel Arbaje, visited him at his home.

«Today, together with my wife Raquel Arbaje, we visited our colleague and friend at his residence. Roberto Fulcar, where I was able to verify his accelerated recovery after the difficult health situation he faced. Thanks to the Fulcar Soto family for welcoming us with the usual love,” Abinader wrote on Twitter.
