What did you want to achieve in these 60 days of state of emergency? How have we taken advantage of it? We have not achieved a qualitative, permanent objective. Which extortion head have we captured? The JNE needs 270 days to carry out an electoral process without anyone complaining of fraud. It’s almost a year. If the elections were brought forward, only one month would be gained. The reality is that they would advance very little. The president has lost the great opportunity that life gave her to be president and, on top of that, to be the first woman president. How many of us want to be presidents and the lady found it. She doesn’t have to blame anyone for her low approval but herself. All his problems are personal: his ‘waykis’, his watch, his nose. I didn’t have much experience. They have lacked prestigious and important advisors.

I had conversations with the leaders of the PPC. Something positive is that now alliances are just one point. You can get together with two or three, and that is favorable for democracy, so as not to present the 39 of us and counting.
Front or alliance?
I am in favor of a center front. You have to have detachment and good will. I am independent of what is happening in the PPC. I know and respect the four (Carlos Neuhaus, Fernando Cillóniz, Óscar Valdés and Javier González-Olaechea). I don’t have any opinion and I don’t want to get involved.

He and Lourdes Flores were the first to talk to me. I have a lot of respect and consideration for them. The two have fought to re-register the match. It’s one thing to sign up and another thing to enter when everything is ready. But, if the PPC has to thank someone for having re-registered, they have two names: Lourdes Flores and Miguel Ángel Mufarech, whom they called the ‘Whip’.
