Outstanding businessman and producer Robert Angel Salcedo stated that the investments being made by the president’s government Louis Abinader in the province of Santiago are transforming people’s lives.
“The investments made throughout the province of Santiago are unprecedented in the recent history of the Dominican Republic,” said the renowned member of the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM) during a tour of Ciudad Corazón, which included a conference at the Government, entitled “Entrepreneurship and Leadership”, as well as meetings with political leaders, businessmen, entrepreneurs and important local media.
In this sense, he highlighted that the central government announced the sum of 42 billion pesos in works for this province, which includes a monorail, cable car, the completion of the Tourist highway, the remodeling of the historic center, the expansion of the Duarte highway , among other great projects.
In the company of Governor Rosa Santos, the producer and businessman mentioned that the Ministry of Public Works alone contemplates investing 10 billion pesos in infrastructure, sidewalks, curbs, highways, such as those of Hermanas Mirabal and Los Higos, renovation of Dr. Joaquín Balaguer, completion of the North Beltway, expansion of the asphalt paving program in the different neighborhoods, total remodeling of Francia Avenue, construction of clubs, sports centers, churches and cheap dining rooms.
In the health sector, Roberto Ángel highlighted the remodeling of the José María Cabral y Báez Hospital, the construction and refurbishment of primary care centers in Los Salados, Las Placetas, Laguna Prieta, Puñal, among others.
Another large investment that will benefit the province is the approximately 1,500 million that CORAASAN will make available for the completion of the La Canela and Santiago Oeste aqueducts, the remodeling of the Noriega 2 treatment plant and the Noriega 1 tender. In addition, the placement of networks for drinking water services in different sectors, such as Santiago Oeste, Canca, Tamboril, La Canela, among other communities. As well as the collector on Avenida 27 de Febrero, the expansion of the sanitary networks, in different sectors, such as the Villa María and Don Jaime urbanizations and neighborhoods in the southern zone.
He valued the importance of the Gurabo river sanitation projects, which Inapa has valued at 1,200 million pesos.
Also, 1,500 million pesos will be allocated to repair floors and roofs, construction of low-cost housing projects with the “My Happy Home” program, which includes 800 apartments in Los Salados, approximately 134 in La Barranquita, in Hato del Yaque, Ciudad Juan Bosch, and other complexes to house the families that would be relocated from the banks of the Gurabo River.
In addition, Edenorte will provide new electrical circuits for Baitoa, La Cumbre de Juan Vera, play lighting, courts, placement of lamps, transformers and light poles, and the La Barranquita sports complex will be built, with an investment of 90 million pesos in its first phase.
The remodeling and asphalt of the Gran Arena del Cibao is contemplated, for approximately 10 million pesos, construction and repair of courts.
In terms of health, Roberto Ángel said that a broad social assistance program is being developed, including food, medicines, construction materials, help for pregnant women, the elderly, surgeries, among others.
