Santo Domingo.-Hub. After the increases in cholera cases in the country, the Dr. Robert Reid Cabral Children’s Hospital yesterday inaugurated a unit to treat children affected by this disease, which is caused by a bacterium.
This unit is located in the isolation room and contains two rooms, each with two beds, one of which is prepared for an infant under three years of age and the other for an infant over that age.
The director of the health center, Clemente Terrero, explained that given the demand for care in the country due to cholera, the unit has been adapted and enabled.
The doctor said that from the opening date, the hospital will be receiving children who are suspected of cholera. “Our hospital has prepared itself to continue providing first-class care to children with health problems, with the best quality standards and humane treatment,” said Terrero.
