Roads to the Duquesa landfill remain deteriorated

Two and a half years after the minister of Public worksDeligne Ascención, announced the investment of 500 million pesos for the reconstruction of the roads that give access to the Duquesa landfill, the roads remain deteriorated and abandoned.

In July of 2022he minister Deligne Ascención reported that the government proposed to invest 500 million pesos in the two accesses to the landfill. The road The Isabela, which connects the landfill with Antonio Guzmán Fernández Avenue, is just over a kilometer, and the one that connects with Jacobo Majluta is about 4.5 kilometers.

Apart from the 500 million for both roads, the Ministry of Environmentin the person of the then owner, Miguel Ceara Hattonundertook to deliver 15 million pesos per month to the Duquesa administration, until December of that year, to improve the operation of the dump, while a definitive solution to the problem of final disposal was sought.

At the event where the investments does two years and a half, the current one was present minister of EnvironmentArmando Paíno Henríquez; the general secretary of the Dominican Municipal League, Víctor D´ Aza, and some of the mayors at the time.

Some were seen teams working in a third road which communicates to Duquesa, but it could not be verified whether it is a public work or the private sector, because in principle what had been contemplated was Los Casabes and Isabela.
