The ENSA company reported this Friday that as a result of the closure of the Pan-American highway, at the height of Chepo-Tortí-Darién by residents of the area, the tank trucks that transport fuel have not been able to reach their destination, and consequently, the operation of the Electric Power Generation Plant of Tortí and Santa Fe, could be affected and, in turn, the electricity supply.

The generation company for the supply of energy from isolated systems IPSA, ENSA’s contractor, notified that if the transport of fuel by this route is not allowed, the generation plant would only work regularly until this Saturday, March 12, and the customers of Darién and Guna Yala would be subject to perceive the affectations.

Through a statement, Ensa indicated that it maintains constant approaches with the competent authorities to inform them about the evolution of the situation and calls for the establishment of corridors that facilitate the provision of electricity so that the community is not affected.
