The road works carried out by the Government in the municipality of Boca Chica, such as the Andrew’s Elevationare advancing at a good pace, affirmed the Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, and the mayor of the town, Fermín Brito.
The set of works, which in addition to the elevated highway, includes the expansion of the highway, construction of elevated highways and a bus terminal, seeks to expand the Las Américas corridor that begins at the Juan Carlos Bridge, at the Charles de Gaulle, and ends at the Los Corales de Boca Chica street to connect with the Eastern Highway.
The greatest efforts are made in the construction of the Andrew’s Elevation, in the place known as “The Curve of Death”, due to the large number of people who have historically lost their lives in the place when they were hit by vehicles when crossing the dangerous road.
Public Works brigades were seen placing the embankments of the elevation, while other teams worked on the part of the road. The bridge has already been placed and it is practically necessary to complete the filling before proceeding with the asphalting.
The Minister of Public Works, Deligne Ascención, reported that in the next two months this work would be completed.

The works were initiated by the past authorities to improve traffic in the section from the airport entrance to Boca Chica.
Another important aspect of the works is that with the expansion of the highway, Boca Chica will be interconnected with the Andrés conglomerate, where an estimated 60% of the population and the northern and southern parts live.
Mayor Fermín Brito said that they are waiting for the bus terminal to start working so that public transport buses are better organized.
“The works are advancing rapidly, we as a municipal authority have contributed by approving the ordinances and resolutions when they wanted to close two roads, the cross streets, the northern margin of Andrés, to make way for the construction of the important elevated road in Boca Chica. ”.
The mayor highlighted the importance of these works not only for Boca Chica, but for the entire Eastern region because they will have an impact not only on vehicular traffic, but also on the economy of the municipality and other areas.
“The first thing is the displacement that the vehicles will have, safer. In the lower part it will be an interurban internal road, at an economic level it would impact not only Boca Chica, but the entire East in security it will be extraordinary because it would complete that corridor that began with the elevated ones of Puerto Caucedo, Boca Chica, with the expansion and marginal”, he maintained.
Fermín announced that work is being done on the public tender to build the monument to the identity of Boca Chica, which will be erected at the return of the substation that monument. He said that it will be a square that will have fountains, signs with elements that identify Boca Chica, currently it is in the price comparison phase.
