The National Road workers carry out a “flag” at all the agency’s headquarters under the slogan “Enough of lawfare and in defense of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.”

“We are going to be carrying out a banner throughout the country in all the offices of National Roads with an epicenter in the central house in the city of Buenos Aires, under the slogan “Enough of lawfare in National Roads”, announced the general secretary of the Union of Road Employees (Sevina), Fabián Cattanzaro, in statements to Télam Radio where he stressed that “National Roads is one of the last state companies with the largest budget for public works in Argentina”.

The Banderazo takes place from 11 o’clock, accompanied by an open radio, in front of the Central House of National Roads, at 738 Julio A. Roca Avenue in CABA and in jurisdictional offices throughout the country.

Prior to the activity, the leader assured AM 750 radio that the call is based on concern about “hate speech, similar to that which led to the privatization of the ’90s,” and added that it is of “dangerous speeches that seek the cartelization of public works” and go hand in hand with the “concentrated powers that want to dismember Vialidad”.

In that sense, he recalled the figure of the former general administrator of National Roads and current mayor of Captain Sarmiento, Javier “Iguacel, who did it with Corredores Viales SA,” he said.

He thus referred to the operation for which the former macrista official is prosecuted after the Federal Criminal and Correctional Court No. 7 determined that the concession contracts were extended outside of what was stipulated in the regulations, because the extension by decree provided by Vialidad contradicted the public works law.

At this point, Cattanzaro defended “the role of the State” and the need for it to “control public works.”

Cattanzaro also made visible that behind the complaints “and the outrage by the prosecutor” Diego Luciani -who requested 12 years in prison and disqualification from holding public office for the Vice President-, is the work of thousands of colleagues scattered throughout the country”.

“We are going with three fundamental slogans that are the defense of the compañera Cristina, the defense of the workers of National Roads and as a last resort, we defend the role of the State”

Likewise, he remarked that highway workers “have been beaten by an alarming and worrying discourse embodied by a stupid, inefficient State” and stressed that “National Roads is one of the last state-owned companies with the largest budget for public works in Argentina”.

Cattanzaro stressed that behind the complaints “and behind the outrage by the prosecutor” is the work of “thousands of colleagues scattered throughout the country.”

“We are tired and we say enough of lawfare for Vialidad”insisted the union referent.

Cattanzaro, who is also union secretary of the Federation of National Highway Personnel (FEPEVINA), expressed the importance of defending the role of the State, “this present, intelligent State, which controls and is capable of being able to articulate the different resources that are produce in society.
