A training day on road safety aimed at young motorists was developed, with the aim of strengthening citizen awareness and reducing accident rates in the country, an action that was carried out by the Ministry of Popular Power for Youth, in coordination with the National Institute of Land Traffic (INTT) and the Great Young Venezuela Mission.
The activity took place in the White Room of Hugo Chávez Park, in La Rinconada, where psychology graduate and INTT representative Yajaira Rodríguez explained the main causes of traffic accidents in the country, with emphasis on those involving motorcycles and heavy-duty vehicles.
Likewise, the specialist highlighted the importance of complying with traffic rules, warning about risky practices, such as giving motorcycles to minors, which she considers irresponsible and harmful. Attendees also participated in the dynamic “What is it like to drive with alcohol?”, a simulation that showed how vision and reflexes are affected when driving under the influence of these substances.
During the meeting, representatives of the Ministry of Youth ratified their commitment to providing attention to the Motorized Force movement and announced that they will continue to promote preventive workshops to protect the lives of young people and reduce the rates of road accidents. This day is added to other training activities recently developed in different youth sectors.
Present at the meeting were the Vice Minister of Youth, Jesús Rojas, and the person responsible for the “Let’s Work” summit of the Great Young Venezuela Mission, Bellmary Landaeta, along with representatives of the INTT and the Caracas Youth Motorized Brigade.
