The last week closed with positive figures, in terms of traffic accidents registered by Civil Protection in Táchira.
This was announced by Yesnardo Canal, director of the relief agency, “a 35 percent reduction in road events was recorded in the state of Táchira, during the last weekend.”
The statistics reflect that 21 accidents were recorded, compared to the previous week, which marks a 35 percent reduction, “there were no negative figures, that is, no deaths were recorded.”
Canal reiterates with concern that of the 21 road incidents, 18 of them are involved motorizedwhich confirms that these cases are the most recurrent in the state of Táchira.
“Out of 21, in 18 those involved are motorized, that is, 86 percent of the road incidents in the state, motorists are the protagonists.”
Of this figure, the largest number of recorded incidents occur in the city of San Cristóbal, followed by Cárdenas and Guasimos.
To conclude, Canal indicated that by instructions from Governor Freddy Bernal, safety and prevention devices are maintained, since through them significant results have been recorded, to reduce road accidents to a minimum.
