Rivera: a man is shot dead in the Misiones neighborhood

A 30-year-old man died this Thursday after he was shot in the head in a new violent incident that occurred in the city of Riverain the Misiones neighborhood.

Around 6:00 am this Thursday, the Police received the alert for the presence of a man wounded by a bullet in Abayubá and Tabaré streets. Cell phones moved to the site and upon arrival found what was indicated: the subject’s already lifeless body. In one of his hands the victim had marijuana and a few steps from the body was a 45-caliber firearm scabbard.

This is the second murder that has occurred in the Misiones neighborhood so far this year. It should be noted that the site where the crime took place is just a few blocks away from the square where in January a 33-year-old man was riddled with 14 bullets who had recently been released from prison after serving a sentence for homicide.

The chief of the Rivera Police went to the scene of the last crime, along with personnel from Sectional IX, Scientific police and the Department of Complex Crimes.

The authorities estimate that, due to the characteristics of the homicide, it is an account adjustment. According to Telemundo, a few hours before this crime, at least 10 detonations were heard in the neighborhood. In addition, in the adjoining neighborhood of Los Pirineos, the house of a woman serving a prison sentence was set on fire, for which the authorities are investigating whether there is a link between the events.
