River Plate ‘signed’ Leo Messi the night that Argentine fans vibrated again and in what way with Scaloni’s team that was proclaimed world champion last December.
River Plate acted as host at the Monumental stadium to receive the team led by Leo Messi, the first game in which Scaloni’s men appeared before a fan on the ‘green’ after having touched the sky in Qatar. And the River fans went crazy online when they saw the best player in the world, a euphoric Messi, wearing the Millionaires’ shirt. It was a gift from River’s board of directors, a brand new shirt with the ’10’ on the back the day Messi went off again by scoring his 800th goal of his career, so much so that it made it 2-0 in the friendly against Panama.
The Argentine star was photographed proud and very excited after the party, shirt in hand, together with ‘Muñeco’ Gallardo, the former River coach, who had not set foot in the Monumental since his last game as coach of the Millionaires (on October 16, last year, when the ‘Millo’ fell to Carlos Tévez’s Rosario Central).
Messi was not the only one who received a nice present from River. The coach Lionel Scaloni was also honored with a River shirt and the number ’18’ on his back. The party was complete in a Monumental that ‘fell’ to once again pay homage to the world champion from Albiceleste.
