River Plate managed to beat Lanús 2-1, at the More Monumental stadium, in a very intense and balanced match on the fifth date of the Professional Football League.

José Paradela, at 26 minutes, and Braian Romero, at 32, put River in front, and Lautaro Acosta, at 35, discounted for Lanús, all in the first half.

The ‘garnets’ culminated with two fewer players due to the expulsion of Matías Pérez -aggression against Palavecino- and Brian Aguilar, due to a double warning, in added time at the end.

As for the development of the match, from the beginning River took the initiative by taking possession of the ball, although without generating dangerous situations for the Lanús goal, due to the fact that the visitor appeared withdrawn to contain the local attack and try to cut their circuit. of game.

For that, the ‘garnet’ technical director, Jorge Almirón, offered Colombian midfielder Raúl Loaiza, from Defense and Justice, a debut to partner with Tomás Belmonte in midfield contention.

So much so that the first intervention of some risk for goalkeeper Fernando Monetti happened at 18 minutes when David Martínez disturbed him with a low shot from about 25 meters: it was complex for the host to reach the opponent’s fence with combinations by the lack of spaces.

After that, Marcelo Gallardo chose to remove the Uruguayan Nicolás De La Cruz from the field, who was passing with difficulty due to a strong blow he received near the right Achilles tendon, despite the player’s refusal to leave, who was replaced by Esequiel Barco , which gave another tonic to the team.

This is how another game began to unfold, because Núñez’s men began to find some spaces as the rivals were encouraged to advance their lines to generate some offensive combination.

In this way, in a quick reply Paradela, who had turned to play on the right so that the admitted Barco could do it on the left, culminated the counterattack by hooking for the middle by entering the area to take a tremendous left-footed cross shot, which he overcame the visiting goalkeeper’s resistance in the 26th minute.

In another good offensive combination, with a cue pass from Paradela to Romero, who made friends with the goal again and from near the point of the penalty, defined a half-turn with a shot to the lower left corner of Monetti’s goal, at 32 minutes.

The game, which had already become more interesting due to the intense and fast actions, became more emotional when those from ‘Grana’ knew how to react to have more depth and manage to discount.

What was achieved by one of his historical references, ‘Laucha’ Acosta, who practically pushed the ball with an attack after an effective maneuver by Belmonte who put a fair short center on him, at 35 minutes, to give life to Lanús for the second chapter.

In this way and with the growth of Belmonte, in containment and in the generation of play, accompanied by the judicious projections of Leonel Di Plácido on the right, the visit improved its performance, advanced the lines and caused defensive misunderstandings for the host.

While River responded with individual glimpses through Barco and Enzo Fernández, in particular, and some charges from Romero to disturb the opponent’s rearguard.

Despite the fact that midway through the second period Lanús had to replace Belmonte and Di Plácido, due to muscular discomfort, for which Franco Orozco and Brian Caraballo entered, their predominance in the game did not give up.

What worried Gallardo, who resorted to a couple of tactical changes with the income of Agustín Palavecino for Romero and Juan Fernando Quintero for Paradela to try to recover the River Plate walk.

Only in the final stretch did River show a slight improvement, which had a propitious situation with a tackle from Barco, whose shot crashed into the right pipe of Monetti’s goal.

In the end, due to the flashes of the first half and a rebound in the epilogue, those with the red band managed to prevail against a rival that complicated it and dominated it in long passages of the match.

For the sixth date, River Plate will visit Huracán, on Sunday, July 3 at 9:00 p.m., at the Tomás A. Ducó Palace; while Lanús will do the same against Unión, from Santa Fe, on the same day, but at 1 pm, at the 15 de Abril stadium.
