River Plate had no trouble showing a logical superiority and easily beat Deportivo Laferrere, from Primera C, 5-0, to advance to the 16th. final of the Argentine Cup of soccer.
At the Padre Martearena stadium in the city of Salta, Núñez’s team established a resounding win and comfortably raffled the premiere.

Bruno Zuculini (Pt. 26m.), Julián Alvarez (Pt. 33m.), Juan Fernando Quintero (Pt. 46m., penalty), Marcelo Herrera (St. 34m.) and José Paradela (St. 41m.) converted the so many of the victory.
In the next instance, River will face the winner of the key between Barracas Central and Acasusso.
In the first minutes, the ‘millionaire’ team sought to press up, trying to intimidate an opponent who, knowing his lesser soccer strength, sought to buckle down with five at the bottom, in some passages of the match.
But that overwhelming momentum of Gallardo’s men lasted just 7 minutes. Little by little, the Buenos Aires team, the one that plays in the First C, began to settle in the field and even dared to prowl Franco Armani’s domains, as in that frontal shot by Julián Rodríguez Seguer (11m.) that caught the goalkeeper, after a coverage error by González Pirez.
An eloquent testimony that Núñez’s men were not comfortable with what was happening on the limits of the playing field was given – paradoxically – in the stands. It’s that the fans of ‘Lafe’ took over the area, they launched threatening songs (“don’t be afraid, you can sing”, they clamored down) and they were the only ones who made themselves felt in Father Martearena.
It was enough for the Colombian Quintero to find his place on the court and become a pitcher for the River Plate cast to begin to develop the promised superiority. A shot by Alvarez that went wide (24m.) served as a pre-announcement.
And on a corner kick from the right, River found the key to the opening. ‘Juanfer’ put thread to the heart of the area and Zuculini emerged there to put the front and violate the goalkeeper Morel (26m.).
The unevenness brought tranquility and Gallardo’s team found the spaces to strike again. At 33m, a deep pass from Quintero allowed Barco to weave a lucid individual maneuver and enabled Alvarez, who – with a header – stamped the second.
And already in stoppage time, an innocent infraction in the Santiago area on Palavecino allowed the Colombian Quintero to put a starry distance between one team and the other. The one that was expected before the start of the match.
The second half was practically too much. Because River ‘ironed’ the rhythm and took the opportunity to shoot those players (Matías Suárez, Emanuel Mammana, Tomás Pochettino, José Paradela, Braian Romero) who come from injuries or are usually substitutes.
And Laferrere sought, above all things, not to be unprotected further back so that the win would not reach scandalous figures. With his head set on Leandro N. Alem, his rival on Sunday at 5:00 p.m., for the fifth date of the Opening of the First C.
Two new goals from Marcelo Herrera (one of the high points) and the entered Paradela decorated the final plate. But the game had been over for a long time.
