Ritmo Económico magazine celebrates its tenth anniversary

Santo Domingo– Ritmo Económico Magazine celebrated its tenth anniversary with a special event entitled “Women with Purpose”: “Transform your finances, secure your future.”

This enriching meeting, designed for local women entrepreneurs and businesswomen, with a focus on the Finance Code for Women, a key initiative to facilitate access to financing under favorable conditions in the banking sector, held in the Business Hall of the Association of Industries of the Dominican Republic (AIRD).

The day began with remarks by Zonia Tejada, director of Ritmo Económico magazine, who highlighted the magazine’s commitment to promoting good economic practices in the Dominican Republic over the course of a decade.

“In these 10 years, our goal has been to disseminate the best practices of the Dominican economy, highlighting the protagonists and sectors that contribute to the well-being of our nation,” said Tejada.

The event, which impacted hundreds of women in person and through digital platforms, included the conference “The We Finance Code as an Instrument of Inclusion in Financial Services”, given by Rosanna Ruiz, executive president of the Association of Multiple Banks of the Dominican Republic (ABA).

In addition, two discussion panels were held: Financial Inclusion as an Agent of Change in Poverty Reduction, with speakers including Gloria Reyes, director of Supérate; Liliana Rodríguez, economist; and Mercedes Canalda de Beras-Goico, president of Banco ADOPEM.

The moderator was Amarilis Durán Salas, president of the International Federation of Business and Professional Women (FEM) and the second, “Financial Digitalization, a Gateway to Economic Growth,” was Auriin Rodríguez, Senior Vice President of Transactional Banking at Banco BHD; Isaura Segura, Director of Sales Support and Small Business Segment at Scotiabank; Yara Hernández, Vice President of Communications and Sustainability at the Cibao Savings and Loan Association, moderated by Elsy Fernández.

Also, a B+B entitled “Co-creating Digital Solutions for Effective Financial Inclusion of Women” was presented, led by Shariff Media, 2nd vice president of APAP’s Digital Factory and moderated by Zonia Tejada.

Recognitions

During the event, special recognitions were given to Banco Popular, the Central Bank of the Dominican Republic, Scotiabank and the Cibao Savings and Loan Association for their constant support to Ritmo Económico since its inception.

The event was attended by the IDB Representative in the country, Katharina Falkner-Olmedo, Dr. Rossy Ruiz, President of the Board of Directors of EGEHID, Rosa Rita Álvarez, Executive Director of Mude, Julissa Jiménez, President of ADME, and Amarilis Durán Salas, President of FEM, among others.

This third meeting of “Women with Purpose” provided an invaluable platform for the exchange of knowledge and business opportunities, strengthening the role of women in the business and financial spheres.
