The Spanish midfielder Riqui Puigkey in the triumph of the LA Galaxy against Los Angeles FC (LAFC), was chosen this Thursday best player of the day 23 in the MLS.
puig scored this Tuesday the winning goal for the Galaxy 2-1 against LAFC in a historic edition of the Los Angeles derby, since the MLS beat its viewers record in a match thanks to 82,110 people who came to the Rose Bowl stadium.
The previous mark of attendance at an MLS match was held by the 2022 duel between Charlotte and the Galaxy with 74,749 spectators.
“Every player wants to be in these matches. I don’t play for money, but for these experiences (…) I’ve had it like a little kid and I think I have given a great level”, Puig pointed out at a press conference after the match.
The former Barcelona player, in addition to achieving that goal, gave an exhibition in attack to boost a Galaxy very in need of happiness since he came to that game against the LAFC as penultimate in the West, with four straight draws and with a season full of disappointments after the long-term injuries of the Mexican Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez and from the Uruguayan Martin Caceres.
