Riogas asked Supergás and Fuecy unions to reflect on “excessive conduct”

The Riogas Company issued a statement this Monday night, the 6th, to provide information to the public about how the conflict is currently developing in the sector, and what damages or consequences it may cause. The text was released after the company did not accept the proposal from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.

“The bottling plant is operating and distributing practically at maximum capacity, thanks to the large number of workers who have decided to work and do so with absolute normality. Riogas is even doing additional shifts on weekends than he normally does,” says a fragment of the text.

The other distribution companies in the sector are also operating and distributing at maximum capacity. “Although there is a specific union conflict in a company subcontracted by a distributor, this does not have a significant impact on supply,” they said from the company.

“The supply to the population and companies is assured,” they affirmed from Riogas, adding that “there are only some delays in the replenishment of stocks and in deliveries, which were caused by the logistical delay that the pickets and occupations generated in recent days. of the supergas and Fuecys unions. However, these delays are gradually being corrected.”

“Meanwhile, the supergas and Fuecys unions continue to strike, which means that the affiliated staff does not go to work. However, the operation is only affected when these unions carry out illegitimate measures, to prevent those who want to work from doing so, “the company continued explaining.

For Riogas, “the unions of Supergás and Fuecys seek to obtain through illegal pickets and occupations what they cannot achieve by convincing. This is unfortunate, so we appeal to these unions to reflect on their excessive conduct. In this sense, Riogas once again rejects the threats and intimidation to which those who have come to work have been subjected, for the sole fact of being working”.

It should be remembered that, to date, after two negotiation meetings held on Friday the 3rd and Saturday the 4th, respectively, the Ministry of Labor and Social Security (MTSS) presented on Sunday the 5th a second rapprochement proposal between the Riogás company and the Riogás Workers Association (ATR). The workers agreed to sign the agreement, but the company did not accept.

The union reported through a statement that it decided to accept the proposal even if it did not take into account all their requests, to show “the good faith and negotiating spirit of the workers.”

“We do not earn the salaries that the company in a statement says we earn. Our cars are the ones we have bought with the fruit and effort of our work lifting bottles and putting our health at risk. We do not deserve to be told that we are ‘vegetables’ in front of the MTSS because we are sick and we do not deserve to be called liars and violent,” ATR explained in the note.
