The Municipal Health Department of Rio de Janeiro reopens, as of this Monday (6), four vaccination points (PV) that will reinforce the immunization campaign of the bivalent vaccine against covid-19. The purpose of reopening the posts, which will operate from Monday to Friday, is to facilitate the population’s access to the vaccine.
In this way, the Tijuca Tênis Clube, from 8 am to 5 pm, and Shopping do Méier, from 9 am to 5 pm, both in the north zone, are back in operation today (6). Tomorrow (7), PVs will be reopened at Parque Shopping Sulacap, from 10 am to 4 pm, in the west zone, and at the Museum of the Republic, in the south zone, from 8 am to 5 pm on weekdays and, on Saturdays, from 8 am to 12 pm.
The municipal secretary of Health, Rodrigo Prado, explained that the city hall is opening extra points that were also important in the first vaccination campaign against covid-19. ′′ Our goal is to expand vaccination in the city, facilitating access for the population. It is important that people get vaccinated so that we can continue with this positive scenario that the vaccine has provided everyone,” said Prado.
The four PVs will offer the bivalent Pfizer vaccine as a booster for the elderly and immunocompromised people from 12 years old who have taken the second dose for at least four months. In addition to them, cariocas from 12 years old who have not yet completed the vaccination schedule can be vaccinated with adult doses of Pfizer.
The Municipal Health Department also has the Super Centro Carioca de Vacinação, located in the neighborhood of Botafogo, south of the city, which is open every day of the week, including Sundays, from 8am to 10pm.
