The Municipal Public Order Department of Rio de Janeiro and the Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) demobilized eight blocks last weekend, three on Saturday (26) and five on Sunday (27). The blocks were not official and most of them tried to leave in the central region of Rio, such as Rua 1º de Março and Boulevard Olímpico. Another block was concentrated in Praça Cruz Vermelha and tried to reach Rua do Lavradio. Inspections are carried out by 1,260 agents daily.
The secretariat informed today (28), through its press office, that its intelligence sector monitors irregular events so that there are no disturbances in the city. The Municipal Guard (GM-Rio) acts in the demobilization of these events.
The bodies ask for the awareness and collaboration of the population to avoid participating in events of this type.
