Brazilians Marcelo Melo and Rafael Matos debuted with victory in the Open River doubles tournament. This Wednesday (19) at the Brazilian Jockey Club, in Rio de Janeiro, they surpassed Americans Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram by 2 sets to 1, partial 5/7, 7/6 (7-5) and 10 -4, in almost 2 hours of departure.

“I found my favorite conditions here, playing with this crowd is different. I’m a guy who needs to always be up, so the crowd helps me a lot with this energy and keep my intensity up there. It’s very special to play here, ”said Rafael Matos.
The next commitment of the Brazilian duo will be against Portuguese Francisco Cabral and Dutch Jean-Julien Rojer, from 18:30 (Brasília time) next Thursday (20). A victory guarantees a place in the semifinals of the competition.
