The concessionaire Metrôrio will expand the hours of operation of services to better serve the revelers and the public that watches the technical rehearsals of the Special Group schools at Passarela do Samba, Marquês de Sapucaí. On Saturdays, the operation will be extended until 2 am.
The request was made by the Independent League of the Special Group’s Samba Schools (Liesa) to the State Government to extend the time of trains, due to the great demand of last Saturday (1st), when more than 58 thousand people filled the stands and fries To watch the presentations of Paradise of Tuiuti, Beija-Flor de Nilópolis and First Mangueira Station.

Liesa President Gabriel David stressed the importance of the measure for the public to take the opportunity to honor their favorite schools for free in the sambadrome. “Samba schools are in the final stretch of preparation for Rio Carnival 2025 and the technical rehearsals are fundamental to bring the public closer to the associations. On Saturdays, in the coming days of the special group school rehearsal, Praça Eleven and Central Sector (PAR Sector) stations will be open for boarding by 2 am.
On Sundays, the operation runs until 23h. There will also be a special scheme for the last week, in sound and light rehearsals, which attract more public.
On Friday (21), the stations will be open until 4am; On Saturday (22) and Sunday (23), until 2h.
