The landscape of some locations in Rio Grande do Sul dawned with snow this Saturday (9). The expectation of polar mass over the region had already raised the possibility of frost and winter precipitation, in which rain freezes until it reaches the soil in the shape of flakes or semicongelated particles.
Considered one of the cities with lowest temperature records, 185 km from Porto Alegre, Cambará do Sul, located at over 1,000 meters in a region of Canyons and Serras, was one of the snow records. The temperature there was approximately 2ºC.
According to some information vehicles in the region, the lowest record was in São José dos Ausentes, where the minimum temperatures reached 0.4ºC. Vacaria was also in this track, with 0.6ºC. Already the Palmeira das Missions thermometers marked 1.1ºC.
The state civil defense confirmed to Brazil agency Snow occurred in some locations, without causing, so far, disorders due to the climate phenomenon.
The expectation of Climatempo is that the polar air mass that is in the region follows until at least Wednesday (13), becoming more intense from this Sunday (10). Early next week, the polar mass will be more present over the south-central of Brazil, including areas of the Southeast and the Midwest, with the possibility of minimums below 10 ° C in several cities.
