It rains in Rio since early Friday night (25). In some neighborhoods of the city the rain is strong and there are records of flooding. According to the Rio Operations Center, the rain can arrive accompanied by lightning and gusts of wind.
The Municipal Civil Defense distributed an alert asking residents of risk areas to be aware of the sound alarms. Syrenes activation indicates danger of sliding. If they are triggered, people should look for the support points established by the Civil Defense.
“There is a warning of rain showers for the city of Rio de Janeiro in the next few hours. The warning is valid until the end of the night,” says the Civil Defense statement.
The City Hall alert system informs that the rain can extend to dawn, but with weaker intensity. The city warns people to remain in safe places, avoiding travel due to flooding points.

The forecast for this Saturday (26) is to reduce cloudiness and without rain forecast in the morning. The winds will be predominantly moderate and temperatures should be elevated, ranging from 15 degrees Celsius (° C) and 30 ° C.
For Sunday (27), the sky will be partially cloudy and there is no forecast of rain. The winds will be weak to moderate and stable temperatures, with a maximum expected of 32 ° C and minimum of 15 ° C.

The Civil Defense of Petrópolis, in the Serrana region of Rio de Janeiro, issued, at 5:01 pm, alert to the forecast of moderate to occasionally strong rain with the possibility of gusts of wind and lightning.
