Registration starts at 6 pm on Monday and runs until 6 pm on April 10, at site from the Secretary of Culture. The announcement will award proposals in three categories and each project will be awarded R$ 50 thousand.

The first category will award 50 projects focused on the continuity of literary projects, such as storytelling, workshops, literary competitions, soirées, publication of books in existing literary collections, among others.

“If you have a continuity project, no matter the language, it can be a literary, theatrical, audiovisual, sound or textual project, we want to help you keep doing it”, explains the superintendent of Reading and Knowledge of the State Secretariat of Culture, Yke Leon.

The second category will encourage 20 projects to create literary fairs. “There are many people here in Rio who say ‘my dream is to have a literary festival here in my city, a literary festival here in my community’. We want you to make this dream come true and make this festival”, says Leon.

Finally, the third category will be aimed at stimulating 40 community library maintenance projects.

“Community libraries are a very important arm. Especially in places where the State is unable to reach, the community library is there, dialoguing with 300, 400, 500 children, young people and adults”.
