The forecast is that temperatures will reach 39ºC in the city of Rio de Janeiro on Sunday (11)as state authorities warn. 
This Friday (9) the city reached the second level of the Heat Protocol (HEAT 2) at 9:45 am. Heat 2 is the second of five heat levels, and is characterized by a temperature above 36°C for one or two consecutive days and for four hours or more.
With the forecast of high temperatures, seven municipalities entered a severe alert level: Belford Roxo, Japeri, Marica, Piraí, Queimados, São Gonçalo, Seropédica, Nova Iguaçu, Guapimirim and Itaguaí.
The capital is expected to enter the list from Monday (12).
“It is necessary to maintain good hydration throughout the day, wear light and light clothing and avoid direct exposure to the sun at the hottest times, between 10 am and 4 pm. When it is unavoidable to go out during this period, it is important to use sun protection, such as caps, hats and sunglasses”, warns the Secretary of State for Health, Claudia Mello.
