The City of Rio de Janeiro decreed official mourning of three days for the death of singer and songwriter Arlindo Cruz66 years. THE Sambista died this Friday (8)at Barra D’Or Hospital, in Barra da Tijuca, where it was hospitalized since May for complications of pneumonia.
The family confirmed that the wake of the Arlindo Cruz body will be held on the block of the Serrano Empire Samba School, in Madureira, its school of heart, this Saturday (9), at a time to be confirmed.

THE Future Parque Piedade, which is in the neighborhood of the same name, in the northern part of the city, will be named after the artist, according to the city. Baptism Pilizo Piedade with the name of Arlindo Cruz was motivated by his profound identification with the carioca suburb.
The forecast is that the new public space will be inaugurated by the end of this year.
The Piedade Arlindo Cruz Park will be erected in an area of approximately 18,000 square meters, where the former Gama Filho University operated, with leisure areas and cultural, sports and educational centers.
A park, gym and soccer field are also planned. In addition, visitors will be able to have a playground and an area with gymnastics.
