The city of Rio de Janeiro will apply, until May, the second booster dose of the vaccine against covid-19 in people aged 60 or over. To receive the new dose, you must have been immunized with the first booster for at least six months.
The information was released by the mayor of Rio, Eduardo Paes, on his Twitter profile. Until now, the city has only been vaccinating people aged 80 and over and immunosuppressed adults who had their first booster four months ago.
The new schedule provides for vaccinating people aged 70 years or older, starting next Wednesday (27), elderly people aged 65 years or older, starting May 4, and those aged 60 years or older, starting on May 27. may 11.
According to the Municipal Health Department, so far, 62.3% of the adult population of the state capital have taken the first booster dose. Already received the second booster 36.4% of the elderly aged 80 years or older were immunized.
