Moments of terror and despair lived a family in the district of the Rímac This morning, after the wall and roof of his home in a collapse alley. The collapse, which occurred in block 3 of the Marañón jirón, left a child under 12 years with leg and back injuries.
The girl was transferred to the Sabogal hospital to receive medical care.
The incident was recorded minutes before 6:00 am, while the family, which included the child, an adult over 65 and a 3 -year -old boy was sleeping.
According to a relative of those affected, the collapse occurred due to the antiquity of the adobe and quincha structure (bamboo covered with mud), a problem that the family tried to solve without success.
Family members denounce that they had been requesting the Municipality of Rímac for years to rebuild the house, but the application was rejected because the area is classified as cultural heritage. Before the tragedy, the family requires the presence of the mayor to be granted the authorization that allows them to carry out the necessary works and avoid a new accident.
Civil Defense personnel of the Municipality have already arrived at the place to carry out the corresponding proceedings and evaluate the damages and risks of the structure. The family, on the other hand, expects an urgent response that ends your ordeal.
