Rigo’s birthday

MIAMI, United States. — One of the most beloved and popular Cuban actors is, without a doubt, Rigoberto Ferrera. Although the public knows him mainly for his humorous works, Rigoberto is a graduate of the Faculty of Performing Arts of the Higher Institute of Art (ISA). One of the most attractive features of his shows is that he tries to mix comedy with technical resources and other forms of expression, such as singing and music.

Through jokes and satire, Ferrera makes us reflect on popular everyday life. Some of her memorable shows are when Rigo rings, Blame it on Rigo, bohemian flavor and Rigoberto.com. In Blame it on Rigothe actor recreates autobiographical passages through songs, audiovisuals and monologues.

Along with his career as a comedian, Rigoberto Ferrera has acted in films, teleplays and short films. One well remembered is motorcycles, by director Ian Padrón, where he shared the leading role with Herón Vega. She also worked on the documentary Cool (1999), written and directed by the now ousted director Miguel Coyula; in the animated film More Vampires in Havanaby Juan Padrón; and in the well-remembered feature film habanastationby Ian Padrón.

In addition to acting, her great passion is music, and particularly Cuban music. In 2016 he was invited to the Contratenores del Mundo Festival, where he presented, along with other comedians, the show Humor with Class. Mozart 260, with which a dose of comedy was added to the event that was very well received by the public. She also performed alongside the group Interactivewhose director, Roberto Carcassés, has recognized Rigoberto Ferrera’s talent for singing, thus opening a new path for the comedian, who in recent times has preferred to focus more on the art of sounds than on humor.

In his personal life, Rigoberto Ferrera has had to overcome a health condition that, if it weren’t for his iron will and love for art, would have prevented him from becoming the versatile actor he is today. His stage activity is absolutely at odds with the atopic dermatitis that he suffers from, and that from time to time forces him to be admitted to the hospital.

At the end of 2022, in the midst of a serious crisis that has not stopped worsening for Cubans, the actor referred to the repression and misery on the island, pointing to the regime as the only culprit.
